Welcome to Veasey Memorial Park

Where nature gathers the community thrives.

Friends of Veasey Park brings people together to preserve, improve, and celebrate Veasey Memorial Park, a beloved natural refuge offering trails, wildlife, programs, and year-round adventures for all ages.
A place that belongs to everyone.

Veasey Memorial Park is a 47-acre conservation landscape of forest, fields, trails, wetlands, and freshwater shoreline along Johnson’s Pond. Open dawn to dusk and free to all, it offers space to walk, wonder, gather, and breathe.

Friends of Veasey Park is the volunteer nonprofit that helps this land thrive — caring for the park today while protecting it for generations to come.

Our Mission

Friends of Veasey Park exists to protect, enhance, and celebrate the natural and historic treasure of Veasey Memorial Park.

We are a volunteer-powered community dedicated to stewardship, education, and year-round programming that brings people closer to nature, to one another, and to the stories rooted in this land. Through hands-on care, thoughtful improvements, and inclusive events, we work to ensure Veasey remains a vibrant, accessible sanctuary for generations to come.

Your generosity keeps the wild alive.
Care for the land. Care for the community.

WELCOME TO THE PEOPLES' FOREST

The Veasey Forest is a vital natural area, home to diverse wildlife, birds, and pollinators, and enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. Sections of the hillside have been overtaken by invasive, non-native vines, threatening the forest’s health. In partnership with Massachusetts Master Gardeners, Friends of Veasey Park is restoring approximately 9,000 square feet of forest to a resilient, self-sustaining native ecosystem.

THANK YOU!

Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers for helping us succeed in completely planting the rewilding areas of the People’s Forest at Veasey Park! We had perfect weather, lots of smiling faces (even while digging rock!), great food, and 160 seasoned & brand new gardeners from under 10 to over 80. A real community effort.
